(Eden Park) -- It can be difficult being romantic when it's this cold out. But Andrea Schepmann at the Krohn Conservatory says that's why some people go there for Valentine's Day. Some may notice the smell of flowers from the Spring Show, but to Schepmann it's romance in the air.
She says since they opened in 1933, the Conservatory has seen hundreds of proposals, weddings and anniversaries.
This Friday, Valentine's Day, the Conservatory will be open from 5 to 7:30pm, but for grownups only. They're hosting a special Krohn by Candlelight event, with cocktails, chocolates, music, flowers and photographs.
Schepmann says if someone does want to "pop the question", let the staff know and they'll make special arrangements.
She says it will also a good night for couples who've been together for years, or who are on their first date.
