Chocolate Pan Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dutch Process Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup water (or coffee, milk or 1/4 cup dark rum mixed with 3/4 cup water)
 With a fork, stir together the dry ingredients in an 8 or 9” round or square pan until well mixed.Make 3 holes in the dry mixture: pour one of the three, vanilla, vinegar and oil, in one of the holes. Pour over the liquid and mix well with the fork.Bake in a preheated 350 º F. oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
