Marbled Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bars

Pumpkin mix:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

 

Mix well in mixer; set aside.

 

Cream Cheese Mixture:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs

 

Mix together until smooth.

 

Put half of the pumpkin mixture in a greased 13”X9” baking pan.  Top with the cream cheese mixture.  Then add the remaining pumpkin mixture.  Run a sharp knife through the mixture to get a marbled effect.

Bake in a 350 º F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Make the Brown Butter Frosting:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

 

Heat the butter in a heavy pot until lightly browned.  Stir in the remaining ingredients.  Pour warm frosting over warm bars.
