· 1 lb. butter, softened
· 3 c. sugar
· 5 eggs
· 6 c. flour
· Dash salt
· 2 t. each cinnamon and cloves
· 2 lbs. raisins
· 2 lbs chopped dates
· 2 lbs. candied cherried
· 2 t. baking soda dissolved in 1 T. hot water
Beat together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Add the flour, salt and spices
Fold in the fruit and nuts and mix in the soda and water well.
Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 f. for about 12 minutes. Cool on racks.
