· 4 c. flour
· ½ t. baking soda
· ½ t. nutmeg
· ¾ c. butter, softened
· 1 ½ c. sugar
· 1 egg
· 1 c. eggnog
Powdered sugar with nutmeg for sprinkling over the top.
Sift together the dry ingredients.
Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg.
Add the dry ingredients alternately with the eggnog, mixing well.
Cover dough and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Roll into 1 T. size balls and roll into ropes 8” long and ½” thick. Form into a loop on baking sheets.
Bake in a preheated 350 f. oven for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to racks and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
