·         1 cup sugar

·         1 stick softened butter

·         4 eggs

·         1 cup flour

·         1 teaspoon baking powder

·         ½ teaspoon salt

·         16 ounce can Hershey’s Syrup

·         1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream together the sugar and butter until fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time.

Stir in the dry ingredients, the syrup and vanilla. Blend well.

Pour into a buttered 9” square pan.

Bake in a 350 degree F. oven for 45 minutes or until done through.

Make the frosting and frost the cooled cake.

Frosting:

·         ½ cup sugar

·         3 T. cocoa

·         ¼ cup flour

·         ½ cup boiling water

·         2 tablespoons melted butter

·         ½ teaspoon vanilla

·         Dash salt

Stir together the dry ingredients.

Stir in the water, butter and vanilla. Add salt and beat until smooth.
