1 pound raisins, cooked for 15 minutes in 2 cups water.Then add 1 cup cold water.Set aside.
1/2 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon each: cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
4 cups flour
Cream together the Crisco and sugar.Combine dry ingredients.Stir raisin mixture into sugar mixture and stir in the dry mixrure.Pour into a greased 9”X13” baking pan.Bake in a 350 º F. oven for 45 minutes.
