Antonio Merritt has warrants for Possession of Drugs, 4 counts of Trafficking in Drugs, 3 counts of Assault on a Police Officer, and weapons offenses. Officers say Merritt had two bags of heroin, crack cocaine and money in his possession. While officers were arresting Merritt he grabbed the officer’s taser. He brandished a loaded handgun and discarded it. While officers were attempting to take him into custody, he bit one officer on the hand, elbowed another officer in the forehead, and head butted one officer in the face. He has prior arrests for Trafficking in drugs, weapons charges, and Obstructing Official Business. Antonio Merritt is a black male and is just 21 years old, 5’6” tall, and 153 lbs. He is last known to live on Betton Street in the West End.
