Each year, thousands of participants come out to celebrate the start of summer and the renaissance of Over-the-Rhine, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than last. Established in 2007, the “OTR 5K Run & Walk” serves to both highlight successes in the community and raise funds for the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce. This year’s race starts and finishes in Washington Park. Race to compete, or make the 2013 OTR 5K Run & Walk a family affair. Dogs and strollers are welcome. This year’s event features a children’s race, with varying age groups, and prizes.Not a runner? Cheer on those who are and then join in the OTR Summer Celebration afterwards in Washington Park from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. with live music, the City Flea, food, adult beverages, an expanded fine art show, vendors, kids’ activities, and entertainment.The OTR 5K entry fee is $25 per participant and includes a race t-shirt for those who register online in advance. Registration in person is available during packet pick up and day of at the event. The race kicks-off on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. Whether you are a seasoned marathoner or simply an OTR enthusiast, come out and support this gem of a neighborhood.

Hunt shapes and symbols of the historic Pendleton and Over-the-Rhine neighborhoods with renowned urban Cincinnati photographer Marc Wavra! Camera phones are welcomed, but no camera is necessary.

These shapes, symbols, and images will serve as inspiration for a public art sculpture to be installed along Pendleton Street in the coming months. This event is one in a series of community engagement events being organized by ArtWorks as part of the Pendleton Public Art Project. The Pendleton Public Art Project is funded by the City of Cincinnati, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.Mercer Commons Garage (opened May 2013)

Detectives in Wyoming are looking for Chasity Metcalf for Felony Theft. She was indicted for stealing jewelry from a 93-year-old woman while she and her sister worked as the woman’s housekeeper. Chasity is 40 years old, 5’11” tall and 155 lbs. She was last known to live on W 21st St in Covington KY, but has moved from that location. This is her first criminal contact in Hamilton County, but she has another felony Theft warrant in Grant County Kentucky.
