Zamioculcas zamifolia – or commonly known as the ‘ZZ Plant’. With winter upon us, having indoors plants can be a real plus, both mentally and for the improving the indoor environment. And as far as I’m concerned, here is one tropical plant that literally thrives on neglect. I say the only way to kill it, is to try and grow it in complete darkness, or over water it. Otherwise, the ZZ Plant is pretty much fool-proof indoors. Tolerates low light (loves higher light but out of direct sun), rarely needs fed (maybe 2-3 times a year), water when the soil is totally dry, for the most part, rarely do we see any insect problems, and its shiny leaves are great to look at! What more could you ask for in an indoor plant? (May be toxic to pets so be cautious.)
